Since today is officially Memorial Day and so many of us are part of the military in one way or another, I thought it was only fitting and appropriate to honor those past and present who have done and continue to do so much for our country. As a military spouse, I dread the word deployment, but after watching these videos and really thinking about our country, our freedom, and our way of life, there truly is no other way right now. So while Pat is in the military, I know his time will come again, and I will be sad and anxious and nervous and worried, put most of all, I will be PROUD, that I have my freedom because of those willing to defend it for me by risking their lives to protect mine.
I encourage you to watch both of these videos. The first one is a tribute to those who defend and who have defended our country, the second is truly a call to action for us. While we can’t go fight on the front lines, there is SO much we can do! Thank a service member or veteran today, put out your American flag, and check out www.amillionthanks.org, a website started by Shauna Fleming,a teenager who wanted to help. She collects letters of thanks and encouragement to send to our troops serving all over the world. Buick, Ponitiac, GMC has offered their support and have set out collection boxes to collect your letters. So write a letter and say thank you, what better day to do it then today!
